Located on the Uganda-Kenya border, Mt. Elgon known for having the largest volcanic base in the world it is also the oldest and largest volcanic mountain in East Africa. The fresh climate around the mountains offers protection to a variety of appeasing and green vegetation ranging from montane forests to open moorland suitable for the life of a variety of wild animals and birds. Mount Elgon National Park is home to over 300 bird species such as the Lammergeyer. Antelopes, elephants, buffalos and forest monkeys can also be observed at the mountain side.

A climb on Mt. Elgon’s deserted moorlands unveils a magnificent and uncluttered wilderness while reaching the Wagagai peaks explodes the beauty of the 40km caldera. Other attractions at the park include the hot springs at the crater, ancient cave paintings and breathe taking caves.
